About the Role
Responsible for supervising day-to-day health services activities. Health Services provide services and support for foster care, residential, and ACS-involved youth. This role primarily provides health and support services to youths in our Limited Secure Placement facility.
Responsibilities
- Provides general medical care and treatment to individuals supported by the program, on site.
- Performs physical examinations and preventative health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions.
- Provides health evaluations, assessments, and screenings with follow-ups.
- Reviews all Pediatric guidelines for care, including immunizations and testing.
- Records physical findings based on the patient’s condition.
- Participates in clinical team and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plans utilizing historical and current information.
- Conducts and assists in medical examinations of youth after incidents.
- Provides health education to youth supported, including reproductive health education.
- On call for all triage, sick, urgent, and quick coverage, questions, and consult calls for assigned programs (if applicable).
- Administers medication.
- Trains staff.
- Other duties may be assigned within your scope of practice.
Requirements
- New York State Registered Nurse.
- BCLS certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Pediatric experience preferred but not required.
