NSD Shift Supervisor (4782)
Job Responsibilities
- Assigns work, schedules shifts, and monitors attendance.
- Conducts supervision meetings.
- Ensures staff complies with agency, OCFS and state rules and regulations.
- Assists the Program Coordinator with day-to-day operations.
- Develops meeting agendas, ensures logs are completed accurately and in a timely manner, ensures ratios are met, and identifies areas of improvement.
- Conducts training as needed and assists with performance evaluations and corrective counseling.
- Plans and carries out activities to stimulate the emotional, physical, and social development of the youth.
- Acts as a liaison between the facility and the on-call Director in emergency crisis situations, ensuring safety of staff, youth, and facility security.
- Ensures end-of-shift communication promotes continuity of care.
- Ensures all fire drills are completed and protocols are properly followed.
- Assists with the completion of admission packets, admits and/or orients new youth to the program.
- Oversees supervision of youth, debriefs after crises, coordinates appointments, and ensures daily activities are completed including meal preparation.
- Serves as a backup for staff and provides direct care to youth as needed.
- Contacts Justice Center, the County, and family within 24 hours of a significant critical incident.
- Conducts post-crisis debriefs and prepares packets as needed.
- Determines an appropriate supervision plan for the safety of a youth.
- Adheres to required documentation standards.
- Aids in the arrangement and supervision of family contact and visitation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency diploma required; associate degree preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a residential detention facility or short-term residential facility with youth required; more than 1 year of experience is preferred.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule (rotating schedule).
- Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record per agency's policy.
- Travel is required.
- TTCI, First Aid/CPR certifications required.
- Must be able to successfully complete training to administer medication under direction of facility or designee.
- Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.
Pay
$22.50/hour to $24.50/hour.
