Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing planning team, including coaching and career development
- Establish and standardize best practices across NPI planning processes
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and scalability
- Define global sourcing strategies in collaboration with suppliers and contract manufacturers
- Oversee supplier engagement, including quotation management for prototype and production builds
- Develop strategies for transitioning planning responsibilities to contract manufacturing partners
- Establish guidelines for material planning, procurement, and inventory management
- Identify and resolve critical material shortages impacting new product introduction
- Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), rework processes, and defective material strategies
- Ensure successful execution of production builds, including work order releases, build progress tracking, and scrap and excess inventory management
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support manufacturing readiness and execution
- Develop lead time models and product lifecycle planning templates
- Recommend risk-buy strategies and demand forecasts
- Drive data-based planning decisions to improve efficiency and reduce supply risk
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 8+ years of experience working with electro-mechanical products
- Proven experience in supply chain, materials, and production planning
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, agile environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills at all organizational levels
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems for planning and procurement
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
- Familiarity with presentation and database tools preferred
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to identify issues early and escalate appropriately
- Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and change management capability
- Collaborative, flexible team player with a results-oriented mindset
- Occasional travel (~10%) to Asia-based contract manufacturers
Pay
The base salary range for this role is $117,200-$187,600. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
