Responsibilities
- Collaborate with NPI engineering teams to integrate automation into new product builds.
- Review product designs to identify automation opportunities and constraints.
- Provide input on fixture design, part orientation, and material handling for automation compatibility.
- Participate in design reviews to ensure manufacturability and scalability of automation solutions.
- Support installation, commissioning, and validation of automation systems at international sites.
- Train global teams on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Aid in scaling automation solutions from pilot to full production globally.
- Assist in upgrading and retrofitting automation systems to improve performance and reliability.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as an Engineer in a manufacturing environment with a bachelors or associate degree in a technical field.
- 5+ years of experience with proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi).
- Experience with robotics systems (e.g., FANUC, ABB, UR) and robotic integration.
- Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, pneumatics, sensors, and actuators.
- Experience with vision systems, barcode readers, and part inspection tools is a plus.
- Willingness to travel globally and spend a significant amount of time in executing automation deployment; significant travel requirement (50%+).
