Position Summary

The LV SWGR (Switchgear) Project Manager AMER leads and executes product lifecycle activities for the Switchgear PL in the Americas. The role adheres to the Vertiv NPDI (New Product Development Introduction) framework.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Vertiv NPDI process for product development as well as phase out.
  • Work closely with the SWGR Product Manager to develop the new product's requirement specification.
  • Work closely with all stakeholders to develop the feature specification.
  • Aid the Product Manager in creating literature and promotional materials for the launch and support of the project.
  • Manage new product prototype samples with operations to ensure timely delivery for testing and launch.
  • Collaborate with sales, pricing, and finance to ensure project and commercial success financially.
  • Report progress and interconnectivity with other projects in the Vertiv Portfolio to executives.
  • Ensure team develops and loads attributed data for Oracle, PD Cloud, and supporting configuration systems.
  • Collaborate with Advanced Manufacturing Engineers to ensure product manufacturability and capital investments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience in product engineering, manufacturing, or marketing in the electrical apparatus industry.
  • MBA beneficial but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience in Engineering/Supply Chain or Manufacturing Operations and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to drive and accept change, continuous improvement processes.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Project.
  • Experience leading cross-functional meetings and presenting to small groups, both in person and via digital conference calls.
  • Experience in NPDI and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management).
  • Demonstrated curiosity and a lifelong learner.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfortable working autonomously.
  • Experience in introducing new processes to an existing organization.
  • Demonstrated competence in problem-solving, data analysis, and project management.
  • Direct experience in UL891 and UL1558 design of low-voltage electrical apparatus (less than 600V) equipment space.
  • Direct experience with low-voltage (less than 600V) electrical components like circuit breakers, transformers, meters, arc flash mitigation equipment, etc.
