About the role

The Orthopedic Surgery APP (NP or PA) position supports a total joint surgeon specializing in hip and knee reconstruction and replacement. The position is part-time, three days per week (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday), and requires flexibility to travel to surrounding clinics in Chicago, Oak Brook, and Westchester, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Closely collaborate with the existing team.
  • Aid the physician in clinic and operating room settings.
  • Assess patient health status and determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Utilize practice technology, including electronic health records, dictation, and outcomes tools.
  • Provide medical care as delegated by the physician.
  • Educate patients and families as appropriate and maintain continuity of care.
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations, compile patient medical data, and administer or order diagnostic tests.
  • Manage therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care, and infection control.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in continuity of care.
  • Travel with the physician as required.
  • Instruct and counsel patients on compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems, and health maintenance.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program.
  • Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse by AANC, AANP, or ONCB; or certified as a Physician's Assistant by NCCPA.
  • Licensed as appropriate in the state of Illinois.
  • BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications required.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have a strong commitment to patient care and a passion for orthopedic surgery. Experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required.

Skills

Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and proficiency in medical technology are essential.

Pay

$48.08 - $57.69 per hour.

Schedule

Part-time, three days per week (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday).
