About the Role

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The role provides health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, and may care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly.

This position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

Practice Specifics

• Join a busy, established, complex surgery team consisting of 5 Advanced Practitioners and 7 Physicians.
• Support General Surgeons in the operating room as a Surgical Assistant.
• Provide pre-op and post-op patient education.
• Coordinate diagnostic studies, consultations, procedures, and communications.
• Manage post-op care of patients including daily rounds, discharge, patient/family education, and follow-up clinic visits.
• Evening and weekend call responsibilities.
• Support the entire General Surgery physician team.

Requirements

• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the appropriate state (for Nurse Practitioners).
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the appropriate state.
• Current certification in CPR.
• National certification in the applicable area.
• Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.

Pay

$58.35 - $81.69 per hour.

Schedule

Day, evening, and night rotation.

Job Location: Building F - Duluth Clinic - 3rd Street.

FTE: 1 (Full-Time Equivalent).
