NP PA Advanced Practice Provider - Total Joint Arthroplasty

About the role

As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in Total Joint Arthroplasty, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing compassionate care and excellent patient experience. In this role, you will work alongside a well-established group of two Total Joint Arthroplasty Orthopedic Surgeons and three APPs managing patients in the clinic, the hospital, and as first assist in the operating room (OR) as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care at Intermountain Health St. George Hospital and the Southwest Ortho Clinic
  • Work full time (40 hours/week)
  • Participate in a rotating call schedule shared with another APP, including:
    • Treating post-operative patients in clinic
    • First assist in the OR
    • Rounding on hospital inpatients as needed
    • Collaborate closely with physicians and care team members in a multidisciplinary, team-oriented environment focused on high-quality patient care

Requirements

  • PA or NP degree from a fully accredited program
  • Clinical APP experience in orthopedics or other surgical subspecialities
  • New grads are welcome to apply, must successfully completed an orthopedic rotation
  • Active, unobstructed UT license, or the ability to obtain one
  • BLS certification and DEA
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process

Qualifications

  • PA or NP degree from a fully accredited program

Skills

  • Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • May be expected to push/pull gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items
  • May be expected to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc)
  • May be expected to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $57.33 - $88.47
