NP or PA- Cardiac Surgery Step Down Unit

About the role

This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, rotating 3-13 hour shifts, with weekend/holiday coverage. The starting salary for this position is $139,755.20.

Responsibilities

• Participates in daily rounds with nurses, other advanced practice staff, residents, and multidisciplinary caregivers
• Performs bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Develops and implements care plans
• Coordination of tests and consultations
• Implementation of treatment plans
• Communicates with referring physicians
• Prepares patients for discharge
• Keeps Surgeons and Intensivists updated as required

Requirements

• Masters Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant
• Advanced knowledge of reading ECG, Radiology, and Laboratory data
• Basic understanding of Cardiac Surgery patient population, including Mechanical Circulatory Support (durable VADs)
• Ability to function in a high-intensity, complex unit within a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication skills

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse [RN - MA License]
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN] [MA License] or Physician Assistant [MA License]

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of clinical surgical practices and procedures for cardiothoracic patients
• Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings
• Ability to maintain quality control standards

Pay

The starting salary for this position is $139,755.20 annually.
