Responsibilities
- Captures and coordinates resident care in collaboration with administrators, directors of nursing, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintains high levels of clinical competency by staying updated on the latest clinical practices and regulatory requirements.
- Effectively makes decisions to achieve the best possible outcomes for residents.
- Collaborates with others to develop and implement care plans, ensuring continuity of care.
- Ensures compliance with organizational, local, state, and federal regulations regarding resident care.
- Timely completion of admission documentation, including vital signs, skin sheets, and explanations of the call light system.
- Responds promptly to call lights, communicating resident needs to appropriate individuals when necessary.
- Prioritizes call light requests and ensures all are addressed in a timely manner.
- Administers medications accurately and according to schedule, ensuring proper dosages.
- Conducts daily rounds with incoming shifts and provides shift reports that are accurate, concise, and relevant to resident care.
- Coordinates the dissemination of resident information and ensures residents attend scheduled appointments.
- Supports residents' nutritional needs by following physician orders and monitoring intake, providing assistance as needed.
- Recognizes and corrects deviations from resident nutritional plans.
- Maintains confidentiality and respects residents' rights regarding their care information.
- Aids in the MDS assessment, documentation, and interdisciplinary plan of care, assisting in its maintenance, review, and updates.
- Completes medication administration records and treatment administration records to manage protocols according to company policy and procedure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state where the position will be located.
- At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a long-term care facility.
- Experience with non-invasive ventilation and related treatments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations and best practices.
