Job Description Position Summary Our Engineers are responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of plant facilities through the application of engineering principles, project management practices, maintenance strategies, and process optimization initiatives. They serve as a technical resource across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Process Safety, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), and other functional teams to drive operational excellence, equipment reliability, capital project execution, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance. The engineering teams significantly contribute to the achievement of business objectives by leading and supporting production initiatives, maintenance and reliability programs, process improvements, safety initiatives, and capital projects. Key Responsibilities Provide engineering and technical support to plant operations, maintenance, reliability, project, and safety teams to improve safety, reliability, quality, and operational performance.Analyze operational, process, maintenance, and project data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement sustainable solutions.Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs), operating trends, equipment performance, production metrics, and reliability data to ensure efficient operations.Lead or support capital projects from concept development through design, planning, execution, commissioning, and closeout while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.Coordinate cross-functional teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to achieve project and operational objectives.Develop engineering designs, specifications, scopes of work, operating procedures, standards, training materials, and technical documentation.Participate in and support Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), and incident investigations.Lead and participate in root cause analyses, failure investigations, troubleshooting efforts, and corrective action development.Support maintenance and reliability programs through preventive maintenance optimization, mechanical integrity initiatives, equipment assessments, and lifecycle cost management.Ensure compliance with company standards, environmental permits, regulatory requirements, and applicable industry codes and standards.Support plant turnarounds, shutdowns, startup activities, and commissioning efforts, including planning, execution, and verification stages.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders while providing clear communication regarding technical issues, project status, risks, and opportunities.Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, production, quality, sustainability, and cost optimization. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or related discipline).Engineering experience in chemical processing, oil & gas refining, manufacturing, or plant environment.Experience supporting projects, maintenance, operations, process improvement, or reliability initiatives.Knowledge of applicable engineering principles, regulations, standards, and industry best practices.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other engineering-related software tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing capital projects and project portfolios.Experience with Process Safety Management programs and regulatory compliance activities.Knowledge of reliability engineering, rotating equipment, maintenance systems, or process optimization methodologies.PMP certification, project management training, or equivalent experience.Experience with process simulation software, AutoCAD, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), or related engineering tools. Estimated base pay for the position is typically between: $90,000 – $190,000. The actual base pay for the position may be influenced by factors such as education, training, skills, qualifications, competencies, years of experience, job-related knowledge, and scope of the role, and could be outside of the posted pay range.
