About the role

The Notifier 1 reports to the Senior Consulting Utility Forester (Notification Supervisor) and serves as a professional interface with customers. This role requires organization, strong interpersonal skills, time management, and a willingness to travel. The position involves working independently in varied terrain and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers, stakeholders, utility customers, and line clearance vendors.
• Inform property owners of impending utility vegetation management through face-to-face interactions or door hanger cards.
• Answer questions from customers and property owners regarding utility vegetation management.
• Provide general information about utility vegetation management when applicable.
• Refer customer complaints to appropriate personnel if unable to resolve immediately.
• Maintain courtesy and professionalism in all customer and employee interactions.
• Manage a geographical area for vegetation-related activities in an independent environment.
• Work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible scheduling.
• Inspect electric utility hardware and report potential hazards.
• May assist in storm restoration efforts after training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; may substitute 5 years of experience in lieu of education.
• No prior experience necessary; training will be provided.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task.
• Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with customers.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and good judgment for business decisions.
• Competent computer skills, including Microsoft 365.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions safely.

Preferences

• Associates Degree in Forestry or Horticulture (nice to have).
• One year of utility-related experience (nice to have).

This role may not be a good fit if:

• You do not enjoy working independently.
• You do not enjoy working outdoors.
• You are unable to work nights and weekends as needed.
• You are not comfortable driving a pickup truck or 4x4 off-road vehicle.
• You struggle to calmly communicate during customer conflicts.

Drug and alcohol testing is required for this role.

Where you’ll work

Employees will use a company-provided vehicle to travel to assigned locations daily, as directed by a supervisor or team lead. There is generally no need to report to an office.
