North High School Assistant Wrestling Coach - 26-27 School Year

About the role

North High School is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Assistant Wrestling Coach to assist the head coach in leading our program with an education-based and transformational coaching philosophy. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, inclusive team culture that promotes growth, sportsmanship, and excellence both on and off the mat.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and overseeing the Wrestling program, including practices, matches/meets, and team-building activities
• Promote a safe, supportive, and positive environment for all student-athletes
• Communicate effectively with players, parents/guardians, and coaching staff
• Model integrity, accountability, and professionalism consistent with the mission and values of North High School

Requirements

• Experience in wrestling, either as a competitive player or coach
• Demonstrated experience working with high school-aged students
• Availability for after-school practices, weekday matches/meets, and occasional Saturday events
• Knowledge of MSHSL policies, wrestling strategy, skill development, and training techniques
• Strong leadership, organizational skills, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Understands education-based athletics

Qualifications

• Previous high school coaching experience
• Competitive playing experience at the high school and/or collegiate level

Pay

Per the teacher labor agreement contract
