North America Event Manager
What The Day Will Look Like
Manage approximately 6–10 events per year
Lead everything from small C-suite/board meetings to 1,600+ attendee conferences
Partner with sourcing agency for hotel sourcing and contracting; candidate must be proficient in sourcing and contracting and reading contracts
Manage room blocks, offsites, vendors, AV, and DMCs
Draft detailed program and project plans to keep teams on track and on time
Manage budgets up to and above $1M, including full reconciliation
Drive event marketing, messaging, and creative across registration sites, mobile apps, email, and on-site materials

Partner confidently with senior executives and stakeholders
Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success
- 6+ years of industry experience
- Strong Cvent expertise (registration sites, mobile apps, 1:1 schedulers)
- Strong Excel experience (data analysis, reg reports, pivots, budgets, etc.)
- Deep experience in destination knowledge, how hotel sourcing works, and able to read and understand contracts
- Proven success managing both small and large, complex corporate events
- Background in commercial insurance, financial services, or professional services preferred
- Highly organized, creative, calm under pressure, and collaborative
Logistics
Remote (U.S.-based)
Ideal location: Chicago, but open to other major U.S. cities with a major airport
25–30% travel
Events focused on North America and Canada only
Event duration is typically around 2-4 nights per event, including any pre/post-nights for set-up or teardown. Larger events may require 5 nights or more.

Pay Transparency Laws
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $95,000 - $115,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Chicago, Illinois. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.
