Nordic Spa Licensed Massage Therapist
About the Role
Alyeska Nordic Spa is seeking a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) to deliver therapeutic and personalized massage experiences that enhance guest wellness and relaxation. Located in Girdwood, Alaska, on the Alyeska Resort grounds, our spa offers an indoor-outdoor experience designed to be as individual as each guest, fostering connection with nature, self, and others.
Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic massage and bodywork tailored to guest needs.
- Offer home care recommendations and support retail sales.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe physical environment.
- Strictly enforce guest privacy and confidentiality.
- Address guest feedback and resolve concerns professionally, both in person and in writing.
- Follow all health and safety policies; report hazards immediately.
- Uphold spa values through personal communication, interactions, and behaviors that promote inclusivity and equality.
- Contribute to a collaborative workplace that supports community, common goals, and acceptance.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of massage.
- Registered and in good standing as a massage therapist in the state of Alaska.
- Minimum of one year of work experience as a Registered Massage Therapist.
- Previous massage team leadership or supervisory experience (preferred).
Working Conditions
- May require long days and/or weekend work to meet business demands or deadlines.
- Fast-paced environment with high levels of interaction with employees, guests, and stakeholders.
- Outdoor work in varying mountain weather conditions, with temperatures ranging from -22°F to 86°F.
Physical Demands
- Regularly on feet, reaching with hands and arms, and performing movements such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Visual ability to observe employees, analyze operations, and ensure policy adherence.
- May be required to pass a functional capacity test specific to this role.
