About the role

Perform skilled carpentry work in the construction, alteration and repair of structural woodwork and wooden articles; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled carpentry work in the construction, alteration and repair of structural woodwork and wooden articles.
  • Use the hand and power tools common to the carpentry trade.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
  • Recognize hazards typical of the work.
  • Estimate time and materials needed to complete a job.
  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Perform heavy lifting, moving and other manual work typical of this class of work.
  • Lift and carry objects including repair and construction materials, supplies and/or equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.

Requirements

  • Four years of work experience in performing a variety of rough and finished carpentry work.
  • Valid driver's license for positions requiring it.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of practices and methods in the carpentry trade, including safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in the carpentry trade.

Skills

  • Ability to use hand and power tools common to the carpentry trade.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
  • Ability to recognize hazards typical of the work.
  • Ability to estimate time and materials needed to complete a job.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting, moving and other manual work typical of this class of work.

Pay

$3,618 per month (Salary includes Shortage Category Differential).

The immediate vacancy is located in Kona, Hawaii.
