Nonregistered EEG Technician PRN
Job Summary
The EEG Technician performs routine and complex diagnostic testing in the laboratory and in critical care areas in accordance with hospital policies and national standards. The EEG Tech calibrates and sets measuring parameters and reports findings to the physician for analysis and interpretation.
Qualifications
- High School graduate/GED required.
- Completion of an accredited EEG training program preferred.
- ABRET Registered Electroencephlographic Technologist required within 90 days.
- BLS Certification.
- 1-3 years EEG experience preferred.
- Computer experience preferred.
What you will do in this role
You will review the patient's medical record and assess the patient to determine their physical and emotional needs.
You will communicate information about the test and explain the testing procedure to the patient and/or family.
You will identify and correct for artifacts before forwarding results to the attending physician.
You will assist in maintaining EEG equipment and supplies.
