About the Role
This part-time, 12-hour per week, 12-week unpaid remote internship provides insight into key skills required to lead and develop a nonprofit organization. If your availability is limited, you can work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks. Start dates are available monthly — you choose the month you wish to begin.
Key Responsibilities
- Advocacy Leadership Development: Meet with members of Government in your District/Constituency; represent The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events; mobilize individuals to contact their members of Government in support of key poverty-reduction legislation.
- Fundraising Development: Learn how to fundraise. Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.
- Recruitment: Update job postings; inform groups and classes of openings; gain introduction to recruitment platforms and listen in to interviews.
- Marketing and Promotion: Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast and digital media; utilize social media and develop strategies for web-based messaging.
Qualifications
No prior experience is necessary. We’re looking for people who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of GPA or background.
