Job Summary

The Borgen Project is an international organization dedicated to improving living conditions for people affected by war, famine, and poverty through advocacy efforts. As a nonprofit leadership intern, you will gain insights into nonprofit leadership and development.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with members of government in your district/constituency
  • Represent The Borgen Project at various business, political, and community events
  • Mobilize individuals to contact their members of government in support of key poverty-reduction legislation
  • Learn how to fundraise
  • Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets
  • Update job postings
  • Inform groups and classes of openings
  • Listen in to interviews
  • Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast, and digital media
  • Develop strategies for web-based messaging

Requirements

No prior experience is necessary. We are looking for individuals passionate about fighting poverty and advocating for change.

Qualifications

College credit is available for this unpaid internship. Programs begin every month, and you choose the month you wish to start.
