Nonprofit Leadership Internship

About the Role

This part-time, unpaid remote internship offers insight into the key skills required to lead and develop a nonprofit organization. The role involves 12 hours per week over 12 weeks, with the option to work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks if availability is limited.

Responsibilities

• Advocacy Leadership Development – Meet with members of Government in your District/Constituency; represent The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events; mobilize individuals to contact their members of Government in support of key poverty-reduction legislation.
• Fundraising Development – Learn how to fundraise. Create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.
• Recruitment – Update job postings; inform groups and classes of openings; introduction to recruitment platforms; listen in to interviews.
• Marketing and Promotion – Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast and digital media; utilize social media and develop strategies for web-based messaging.

Qualifications

No prior experience is necessary. The organization is looking for people who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of GPA or background.
