About the role
The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology at VCU Health Pauley Heart Center seeks a BC/BE Cardiologist with a focus on Non-Invasive Cardiology. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, research and teaching experience, and a passion for patient care and education.
Responsibilities
- Engage in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Participate in continuing medical education programs and present at departmental conferences.
- To support clinical research protocols as needed.
- Participate in quality, safety, and efficiency initiatives.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care.
- Provide expert management of cardiology patients, focusing on non-invasive cardiac imaging techniques such as echocardiography, cardiac MRI, and CT angiography.
- Expertise or interest in valvular heart disease is appreciated.
- Submit billing and document care as required by the organization.
- Abide by all medical staff requirements.
Qualifications
- Board Certified/Board Eligible Cardiologist
- Sufficient research and teaching experience to be eligible for academic appointment
- Strong communication and clinical skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
