Summary
To assist biologists in surveys of various wildlife species including, monitoring, capturing, marking and releasing animals, habitat surveys and management; data collection and compilation, and maintaining all equipment necessary to conduct surveys.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 2 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in fisheries or wildlife conservation, commercial fishing, landscaping, carpentry, agriculture, outdoor recreation, or park management, including experience in operating or maintaining equipment.
- License/Certification: Valid Driver's License
- Other Requirements: Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards established by the agency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Biology Knowledge of plant and animal organisms, and interactions with each other and the environment.
Responsibilities
- Collect and maintain data on nongame wildlife species.
- Preparing written reports based on data collected.
- Utilize radio telemetry equipment to track various nongame wildlife.
- Independently capture, mark, and release specific nongame species.
- Perform assessment and data collection of habitats.
- Maintain equipment associated with the project.
- Coordinate volunteer data collection with external stakeholders through verbal and written interactions.
- Assist with other projects as assigned.
