About the role
The Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Technician position is based in Huntsville, Alabama. The role involves detecting various types of defects in aircraft using different NDT methods and providing training to military personnel.
Responsibilities
- Detect flaws such as cracks, delamination, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using various NDT equipment.
- Provide guidance and training to Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard DOD personnel in NDT techniques and methods.
- Maintain records of training activities, trainee progress, and program effectiveness at government sites and remote locations.
- Give presentations and speak in front of groups of 20 or more individuals.
- Travel 20% CONUS and OCONUS as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Level 2 Certification in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT) or military equivalent.
- NDT Level II qualification to set up and calibrate equipment and interpret results.
- Familiarity with the scope and limitations of NDT methods.
- Ability to organize and report NDT test results.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
