About the role

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital is seeking a Noncertified Central Sterile Technician to join our dedicated team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of patient care equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
  • Operate departmental equipment daily following manufacturer instructions with a focus on safety.
  • Provide customer service to all departments with a strong emphasis on the patient’s needs.
  • Process and document all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological, and mechanical indicators to verify sterility as per manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
  • Maintain and perform antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing daily according to manufacturer instructions and documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Proficiency with sterile processing equipment.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $XX.XX - $XXX.XX per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This position is available on a 5x8 schedule, working mid-shift from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with every 4th-5th weekend on-call.
