About the role
The Epilepsy Center of Northwest Ohio is a mission-driven organization dedicated to empowering individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We provide services that promote independence, dignity, and full participation in the community. We are seeking a compassionate, reliable individual for a combined DSP/NMT position, supporting individuals in their homes and providing safe, dependable transportation within the community.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport individuals to and from home, programs, appointments, and work sites
- Absorb and assist with safe loading/unloading and supervise passengers during transport
- Maintain a clean, sanitary vehicle and complete daily inspections
- Keep accurate transportation logs and communicate with team leaders
- Follow all Ohio DODD, county board, and transportation regulations
- Provide respectful, person-centered support in daily living tasks
- Absorb and assist with personal care (bathing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, etc.)
- Support household tasks such as meal prep, cleaning, and laundry
- Engage individuals in social, recreational, and community activities
- Encourage personal growth and help individuals achieve their goals
- Document activities, incidents, and progress accurately
- Communicate professionally with team members, families, and clients
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean and Safe driving record (no more than six points on license)
- Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition individuals weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to pass BCI/FBI background checks, physical exam, drug screen
- CPR/First Aid certification (post-employment)
- No CDL required
