About the role

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching responsibilities may include the education of medical students, residents, cardiovascular fellows and advanced practice providers.
  • Contribute to the educational mission of the organization and contribute no less than 100 teaching credits annually.
  • Primary practice at one or two outpatient clinic locations, providing comprehensive consultative and longitudinal cardiovascular care while interpreting non-invasive cardiac studies, including echocardiography and stress testing.
  • Rotating inpatient cardiology service on a regular basis alongside other faculty members.
  • Serve as the Medical Director of the PPMC Outpatient (PHI3) Cardiology Clinic.
  • Partner with clinical and administrative teams to optimize patient access, enhance quality and operational performance, support physician and staff engagement, and foster continued growth of the practice while maintaining Penn Medicine's commitment to exceptional patient-centered care.

Requirements

  • An M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
  • Board certified or board eligible in cardiovascular disease.

Qualifications

  • Experience in outpatient and inpatient cardiovascular care.
  • Ability to interpret and perform non-invasive cardiac testing.
  • Leadership experience in a clinical setting.
  • Experience in optimizing patient access, enhancing quality and operational performance, supporting physician and staff engagement, and fostering continued growth of the practice.
