Non-Invasive Cardiology

About the role

Employer: UPMC Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI). Location: New Castle and/or Hermitage, Pennsylvania (near Pittsburgh). Role: Full‑time, general, non‑invasive cardiologist with a clinical academic appointment. Eligible candidates: 2026 or 2027 graduates; some visas supported. Reason for opening: Replacement of a retiree and growth of beds and services.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient cardiology consultations
• Critical care services
• ECG analysis
• Interpretation of transthoracic echocardiograms
• Performing and interpreting transesophageal echocardiograms
• Cardiac nuclear studies
• Teaching (optional)
• Weekly rotation with cardiology colleagues
• Weekend coverage shared on a 1:4 basis

Practice overview

• Current staff: 4 full‑time cardiologists (2 interventionalists, 2 non‑invasive, expanding to 6 total) and 10 APPs serving two suburban areas.
• Part‑time specialists: 4 electrophysiologists (including a pacemaker clinic), 1 heart‑failure specialist, 3 vascular surgeons, 1 thoracic surgeon, and 1 cardiothoracic surgeon.
• Facilities: UPMC Jameson and UPMC Horizon locations with outpatient offices, full diagnostic services, and two cath labs.
• Geography: HVI Horizon‑Greenville at UPMC Horizon Greenville Hospital and HVI Horizon‑Shenango across from UPMC Horizon Shenango Valley Hospital.

The practice is situated near the Pittsburgh metropolitan area (e.g., Cranberry Township) and within the “Lakeland Area” of Lawrence and Mercer counties on the PA/OH border. Qualifications

• Board certification in Cardiology
• Valid Pennsylvania medical license
• Proven experience in non‑invasive cardiology practice
