About the Role

The Department of Cardiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's Smidt Heart Institute seeks a clinician-scientist to join the Echocardiography Section. This role involves clinical, academic, and research responsibilities primarily focused on echocardiography within the Non-Invasive Cardiology section. The candidate will perform and interpret transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography and support academic and scholastic activities. Opportunities to participate in cardiac MRI and CT interpretations may be available for those with requisite training and certification. The role may also include supporting ambulatory clinic care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and interpret transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography.
  • Support academic and scholastic activities within the Department of Cardiology.
  • Participate in the interpretation of cardiac MRI and CT (for candidates with appropriate training and certification).
  • Contribute to research focused on cardiac imaging.
  • Support the provision of care in ambulatory clinics.
  • Engage in postgraduate fellowship training support.
  • Maintain clinical excellence and contribute to peer-reviewed publications.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA cardiology and subspecialty training in echocardiography.
  • Board certified with the ABIM in cardiology and board certified in echocardiography.
  • Eligible for an unrestricted California physician license.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of California.
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges at Cedars-Sinai.
  • Eligible for academic appointment at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

  • Exceptional collaboration abilities with partners and staff.
  • Proven clinical skills and a track record of clinical excellence.
  • Experience supporting postgraduate fellowship training in medicine.
  • Track record of peer-reviewed publications and a commitment to continued academic work.

Pay

Pay Range: $365,000 - $600,000 Total Cash Compensation (including any applicable incentive payments).
