Non-Invasive Cardiologist
Overview
St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, NJ is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join its growing cardiology program. This is an excellent opportunity for a new cardiology graduate or experienced cardiologist seeking a primarily weekday clinical practice with a predictable call schedule. The physician will provide comprehensive non-invasive cardiovascular care while working alongside a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, hospitalists, advanced practice providers, and other specialists.
Schedule & Call
- Monday–Friday clinical schedule
- Approximately 1 week of call per month

Academic & Teaching Opportunity
This position offers an opportunity to teach and mentor cardiology fellows and medical trainees.
Responsibilities may include:
- Teaching cardiology fellows
- Participating in clinical education and case-based learning
- Supervising and mentoring residents and medical students
- Participating in conferences and educational activities
- Contributing to the continued development of the cardiology training program

Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage patients with cardiovascular disease
- Perform and interpret non-invasive cardiac testing
- Echocardiography, stress testing, ECG/EKG interpretation and other diagnostic studies
- Manage coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension and valvular heart disease
- Provide inpatient and outpatient cardiology consultations
- Collaborate with primary care physicians, hospitalists and other specialists
- Participate in multidisciplinary patient-care planning
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and meet quality standards
Requirements
- MD or DO
- Completion of an accredited Cardiology Fellowship
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
- Eligible for medical licensure in New Jersey
- New graduates are encouraged to apply
- Strong clinical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Interest in teaching and academic medicine preferred

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $450,000 to $500,000 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
