Non-Ferrous Weighmaster

About the role

Join SA Recycling, a privately-owned, multi-billion-dollar green company with over 3000 employees across 15 states. We are one of the largest scrap metal recyclers in the United States and are rapidly expanding our operations.

Responsibilities

• Weigh vehicles full and empty to record purchases.
• Inspect and determine metal grade for inventory tracking.
• Handle paperwork associated with business transactions, deliveries, and government-required documentation.
• Communicate with dispatch and truck drivers to determine schedules and volumes.
• Address customer concerns when they bring objectionable materials and work to satisfy their needs.
• Collaborate with team members in the scrap metal yard to ensure efficient processing of incoming materials.
• Process and report end-of-day totals.
• Ascend and descend staircases for load inspections.
• Adhere to the position’s dress code, avoiding restrictive or loose clothing/accessories that pose safety hazards.
• Clean and maintain a neat work area at the end of each shift.
• Ensure regular attendance and punctuality.
• Organize materials for effective space utilization.
• Dispose of waste materials appropriately.
• Maintain ongoing housekeeping for safety and hygiene.
• Comply with all federal, state, local, and SA Recycling safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations.

Requirements

• Employees in this position prior to April 2014 are presumed qualified and "grandfathered" into their roles.
• Must pass a medical physical and drug test.
• Must pass a background check and credit check.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED (or foreign education equivalent).
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) language skills are a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow directions (written or oral), and use basic math skills.
• Willingness to learn how to sort metal, identify colors/shapes/weights, maintain equipment, and properly use PPE.
