Non- Equity Partner
Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, answer written discovery, take depositions, and participate in arbitrations and trials.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to develop sound case strategies.
- Communicate with clients, the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
- Provide regular and timely updates to clients on case status, strategy, and potential outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with partners, associates, and legal staff.
- Manage a book of business while adhering to billing and budget requirements.
- Ability to travel for court, client meetings, etc.
- Handle trials on a first chair basis.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience, preferably in defense litigation.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- NY bar license, active and in good standing, required.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills with clients, judge, co-counsel and opposing counsel.
- Proven track record of success in courtroom appearances, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
- Proven track record of first chair trial experience through jury selection to verdict.
- Demonstrated interest in defense litigation.
- Clerkship experience, a plus.
- Ability to juggle and manage a robust book of business.
- Experience in third-party insurance coverage is a plus.
Qualifications
Must be a NY licensed attorney with at least 15 years of experience in defense litigation.
Skills
