Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses in accordance with the approved course outline and program learning objectives.
- Deliver instruction that integrates current industry practices, tools, and technologies.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and learning activities that support student engagement and skill development.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods appropriate for adult learners and diverse learning styles.
- Maintain accurate attendance and course participation records as required by CPS and funding partners when applicable.
- Evaluate student progress through appropriate assessments, demonstrations, or competency-based evaluations when required by the program.
- Submit required documentation, including course completion records, evaluations, and reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain communication with CPS program staff regarding course progress, student concerns, and operational needs.
- Ensure classroom, lab, and training environments meet all safety standards and program requirements.
- Support student success by providing guidance related to industry expectations, career pathways, and workforce readiness when appropriate.
- Adhere to all Brookdale Community College policies, procedures, and professional conduct standards.
- Participate in instructor orientation, training, and program meetings as requested by CPS leadership.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; however, relevant industry certifications, licenses, or significant professional experience may substitute for formal academic credentials depending on the discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise and professional experience in the subject area being taught.
- Industry-recognized certifications or licenses may be required for certain programs (e.g., trades, healthcare, technology, or regulatory training).
- Previous teaching, training, or workforce development experience preferred.
- Experience working with adult learners or workforce training programs is desirable.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements
- Ability to effectively teach and communicate with adult learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to translate industry knowledge into practical training and applied learning activities.
- Familiarity with instructional technologies, learning management systems, and digital learning tools where applicable.
- Commitment to maintaining a supportive, inclusive, and professional learning environment.
Pay
$49.25/hr
