Duties And Responsibilities
- Inspects the truck pre- and post-trip.
- Accurately complete vehicle inspection sheets, fuel consumption logs, daily log sheets, bills of lading, vehicle trip records, and expense reports.
- Ensures all cargo is loaded, checked, and safely secured during transit.
- Acquires all proper signatures on shipping/receiving documents.
- Maintains the maintenance and repair of the truck.
- Provides excellent customer service by communicating professionally and representing the company positively.
- Follows all Federal and State DOT regulations as well as warehouse safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills And Experience
- 1+ years recent commercial delivery-driving experience or willingness to complete a company driving training program.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
- Reliability, adaptability, and dependability.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Thoroughness and attention to detail in task completion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation.
- Strong commitment to customer service.
Physical Demands And Working Conditions
- The ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs., if necessary.
- Flexible early morning shifts.
