Non-CDL Night Driver

About the role

Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest. The Night Driver will transport freight between branch locations and sort packages in a safe and timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up freight to transfer between branch locations
• Conduct pick-ups for shippers after hours
• Load and unload freight by hand carefully from fleet vehicles to avoid damage
• Scan inbound freight for tracking purposes
• Sort freight by zip code, city, or state
• Comply with all company safety policies and DOT policies
• Perform other required duties as needed

Requirements

• Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently
• Possess good customer service skills
• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
• Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
• Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 75 pounds
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol,
