Non CDL Delivery Driver
Join our community of food people as a Non CDL Driver I, delivering foodservice products with a high level of service to customers. This role involves driving a company vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of up to 14,900 lbs and meeting Department of Transportation (DOT) medical requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
- Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries.
- Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles.
- Use a hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle into customer locations, including navigating stairs as necessary.
- Accurately record delivery information using a hand scanner and complete all required company documentation.
- Handle proper documentation and disposition for any return product.
- Communicate delivery or customer issues to the appropriate authority (e.g., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor).
- Deliver product to designated stops following the provided sequence.
- Safely unload and stage product in customer-designated spaces.
- Check invoices for complete delivery and process paperwork or damaged merchandise.
- Collect payments if necessary.
- Monitor the refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle for safety and follow all safe food handling procedures.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including monitoring fluid levels, tires, windshield wash, and replenishing fuel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required.
- No more than two convictions in the past two years for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past three years, and no driver’s license suspensions in the past three years.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment testing (including a background check).
- Commercial or professional driving experience preferred but not required.
- One year of multi-stop delivery experience preferred, or six months of local delivery experience and/or foodservice industry experience.
- Hand cart delivery experience preferred.
- Able to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Knowledge of the delivery area and/or map reading abilities.
- Great interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to service customers.
- No more than two convictions in the past two years for traffic violations, with no more than one being a serious DOT violation (e.g., leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, homicide/assault, eluding police, at-fault offense, refusing a breathalyzer test, committing a felony with a vehicle).
- No DUI convictions within the past three years, regardless of vehicle type.
- No driver’s license suspension within the past three years (insurance and overweight tickets excluded).
- No termination by a previous employer for failure to comply with safety regulations or accident involvement.

Physical Requirements
- Perform physical activities including climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting.
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
- Work primarily outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
- Stand, walk, and drive frequently; sit occasionally.
- Frequently push/pull objects such as hand trucks, gates, straps, metal ramps, truck doors, dollies, boxes, and truck gear shifts.
- Frequently climb/balance (e.g., in/out of truck/trailer, on/off ramps, stairs, and delivery platforms).
- Occasionally stoop/squat and kneel/bend.
- Frequently bend and reach above shoulder level.
- Frequently grasp and manipulate objects (e.g., hand trucks, boxes, cartons, truck gear shifts).
- Frequently twist while performing duties.
Pay
Non CDL Driver I roles earn between $26.53 and $30.24 per hour, with Pronto Drivers making $30.24 per hour.
Schedule
Shift schedule: Monday - Saturday, with a 6 AM start. Monday - Friday shifts end at 2 PM or until finished; Saturday shifts end at 12 PM or until finished.
