Nocturnist
About the role
Join Jefferson Health New Jersey’s nocturnist team, providing dedicated overnight inpatient care in our South Jersey acute care hospitals. This role involves 11–12 twelve-hour shifts per month (7 p.m.–7 a.m.), offering a supportive and sustainable work schedule. The position is located at 435 Hurffville‑Cross Keys Rd, Turnersville, New Jersey, United States of America, with Worker Sub Type Regular Employee at Kennedy University Hospitals, Inc. Responsibilities
- Evaluate and admit patients from the ED, conduct night rounds, and manage care for previously admitted patients.
- Provide backup to APPs, assist with ICU needs including rapid responses and Code Blue events.
- (Optional Academic Track) Supervise residents and support triage and admissions for teaching teams—three nocturnists typically cover each night.
- Coordinate effectively with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, specialists, social work) and ensure comprehensive transitions at shift change.
- Maintain thorough charting of histories, physicals, daily notes, and plans of care, ensuring compliance and accurate comorbidity coding.
