NOC Network Analyst

About the role

As a Level 3 NOC Analyst, you will monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the health of the organization's network infrastructure and systems. This role provides advanced technical support, resolves complex network issues, and serves as an escalation point for Level 1 and Level 2 analysts. You will mentor junior team members, collaborate with other support teams, and lead efforts to isolate and restore services during outages.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network devices and infrastructure, responding to alerts and incidents with diagnostics.
  • Escalate issues to Level 3 support or other teams as needed.
  • Create, log, and track incident tickets, ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
  • Utilize network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds) to proactively monitor network health and device availability.
  • Troubleshoot routers, switches, and other network components, acting as a conduit to the network engineering team.
  • Follow NOC Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Runbooks.
  • Leverage knowledge of network topology to quickly isolate problems and minimize Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
  • Lead efforts to identify, isolate, and restore services to remote locations.
  • Act as a senior team member and gatekeeper to the network engineering group.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with technologies.
  • Adhere to ITIL processes, best practices, and workflows.
  • Perform responsibilities as outlined by the NOC Shift Supervisor.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of advanced experience in network operations, technology, and support.
  • Experience with SolarWinds or similar Network Management Systems (NMS) as a Power User.
  • Clear understanding of TCP/IP, TELNET, SSH, TRACEROUTE, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Routing, and Switching.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or equivalent (preferred).
  • Familiarity with network topology and the ability to quickly isolate and resolve issues.

Schedule

  • Hybrid role: 3 days onsite in Newark, NJ, and 2 days remote.
  • Flexibility to work alternate shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
