Responsibilities
- Provide customer support for Bluebird Fiber customers.
- Maintain and monitor Bluebird Fiber network elements, network performance, and facilities.
- Work with Field Operations and NOC Engineers on trouble tickets to coordinate, isolate, diagnose, and repair issues in a timely manner.
- Manage multiple tickets simultaneously and communicate effectively with customers.
- Troubleshoot DWDM, MPLS, and SONET network equipment.
- Perform circuit testing procedures and use test equipment.
- Interpret and implement MOPs for network changes and upgrades.
- Correspond with customers regarding ticket updates and technical support.
- Monitor network performance after maintenance and network/DC changes.
- Provide network assistance to Data Center technicians.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year in telecommunications or equivalent technical training.
- Minimum 1 year experience working in an NOC environment in the telecommunications industry.
- Familiarity with trouble ticking systems.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies.
- DWDM and/or MPLS fundamentals.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule in a 24x7 environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal guidance.
- Multi-tasking and maintaining composure in a demanding work environment.
- Nokia, ADVA, Ekinops, and MRV experience preferred.
- Familiarity with trouble ticking systems preferred.
- Knowledge of Fiber optic fundamentals preferred.
- Experience performing circuit testing procedures and test equipment preferred.
