About the role
The Township of North Huron is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Roads Operator to assist with the operations of the Public Works Department.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of public works related tasks in both rural and urban settings within the Township of North Huron.
- Repair and maintain municipal roads, sidewalks, parking lots, culverts, storm and sanitary sewer systems, water collection systems, and other designated Municipal infrastructure.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Valid class D driver’s license with Z endorsement.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Heavy Machinery certification or equivalent experience considered an asset.
- Previous working experience and knowledge in construction practices.
- Ontario Good Roads training considered an asset.
- Experience and knowledge in vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance techniques.
- Ability to operate a snow plow, road grader, other heavy equipment, power tools, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Proficient in heavy machinery operation.
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail.
Benefits
- Competitive salary range: Band 5, $26.01 - $35.12 per hour.
- Full-time employment with 40 hours per week.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed, in addition to sharing on-call duties.
Pay
- Band 5, $26.01 - $35.12 per hour.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week.
