About the role

The Township of North Huron Recreation Department is seeking up to three positive, team-oriented, professional individuals to join our Aquatics team in September 2026 and support the aquatics programming at the Wescast Community Complex Pool.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, implementing, and delivering swimming lessons
  • Providing safe and enjoyable drop-in aquatic programs
  • Maintaining proper pool records in accordance with Ontario Health Regulations

Requirements

  • Current National Lifeguard certification
  • LSS Swim Instructors certification
  • Standard First Aid with CPR C & AED
  • Experience planning and conducting LSS Swim Program
  • Experience guarding busy recreational swims
  • Experience working with adults, children, and youth of various ages and abilities
  • Valid/Current Vulnerable Sector check
  • One year's experience as an Assistant Instructor Lifeguard
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills

Pay

Band 2 ($18.28 - $23.22 per hour)

Schedule

Part-time, up to 30 hours per week (variety of shifts available including daytime, evening, and weekend)

About the role

The Township of North Huron is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Roads Operator to assist with the operations of the Public Works Department. The Roads Operator is responsible for performing a variety of public works related tasks in both rural and urban settings within the Township of North Huron.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintenance of municipal roads, sidewalks, and parking lots
  • Maintenance of culverts, storm and sanitary sewer systems, and water collection systems
  • Upkeep of other designated Municipal infrastructure within the Township of North Huron

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Valid class D driver’s license with Z endorsement
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Heavy Machinery certification or equivalent experience (considered an asset)
  • Previous working experience and knowledge in construction practices
  • Ontario Good Roads training (considered an asset)
  • Experience and knowledge in vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance techniques
  • Ability to operate a snow plow, road grader, other heavy equipment, power tools, and hand tools safely and efficiently

Pay

Band 5, $26.01 - $35.12 per hour

Schedule

Full-Time, 40 hours per week. Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed, in addition to sharing on-call duties.
