No Experience? No Problem! Entry-Level Production Worker (POV)

Key Responsibilities

• Sort and grade lumber according to size, quality, and production standards.
• Stack lumber safely and remove damaged or defective materials.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Help maintain a steady flow of materials throughout production.
• Report quality, equipment, or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and safe equipment practices.
• Work closely with machine operators, forklift drivers, and production team members.
• Perform other duties as needed to support daily sawmill operations.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced sawmill or manufacturing environment.
• Capable of standing, bending, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.
• Dependable with strong attendance and a team-first attitude.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to a productive work environment.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in sawmill, lumber, pallet, manufacturing, construction, farming, warehouse, or other hands-on work environment.
• Prior lumber grading, sorting, stacking, or forklift experience.
• Mechanical aptitude or interest in learning sawmill equipment operation.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• This position works in an industrial sawmill environment with exposure to noise, sawdust, moving equipment, lumber, forklifts, weather conditions, and varying temperatures.
• The employee may be required to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, bend, twist, push, pull, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
