As we continue to expand our commitment to avian conservation, we are seeking a dedicated Zookeeper – Ostrich Care Specialist to join our team and ensure the well-being of our resident ostriches.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily feeding, habitat maintenance, and behavioral monitoring for the ostriches.
• Monitor ostriches for signs of illness or injury, administer medications as directed by veterinary staff, and maintain detailed health records.
• Ensure that habitats are clean, safe, and enriched to promote natural behaviors. Perform routine inspections and assist with modifications to enhance animal welfare.
• Develop and implement enrichment activities to stimulate mental and physical well-being.
• Interact with visitors, lead educational talks about ostriches, and participate in outreach programs to promote awareness of conservation efforts.
• Work closely with other animal care professionals, assisting with breeding programs and research projects when applicable.
• Be prepared to assist in emergency situations, including animal escapes, medical crises, or natural disasters.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Zoology, Animal Science, Biology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
