About the Role
KaylaTek has an exciting Systems Admin opportunity supporting the AFNCR IT contract at the National Military Command Center. The role focuses on Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities for the 844CS National Military Command Center (NMCC). The position requires initiative, organization, responsibility, and strong customer service skills in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and problem-solving are essential, along with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
The AFNCR IT Services program supports information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR, including the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations. The role operates in a mission-critical environment where reliability is paramount.
Responsibilities
- Run and review Evaluate STIG scans and manually validate STIG results.
- Analyze vulnerability scans and STIG checklists to identify critical vulnerabilities requiring remediation.
- Collaborate with system owners and work centers to determine if vulnerabilities can be closed, mitigated, or if a POAM (Plan of Action & Milestones) is needed.
- Assess impacts and existing risk mitigation strategies, working with system POCs to close or mitigate vulnerabilities using known strategies.
- Provide remediation recommendations to system owners based on DoD and Air Force guidance.
- Validate system Hardware/Software lists to ensure alignment with system assets.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI).
- Develop and track Plans of Actions & Milestones (POA&Ms) for System Impact Assessments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Create Remedy tickets to track STIG implementation progress.
- Complete monthly application STIG status reporting and POA&M updates.
- Complete and validate STIG/SRG checklists for RMF on a quarterly basis.
- Provide strong verbal and written communication for management status reports and system change documentation.
- Analyze problems and deliver focused solutions for diverse audiences through verbal and written communication.
- Develop and maintain POAMs while supporting remediation activities.
- Experience with continuous monitoring and Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience and certifications.
- Current DoD 8570 baseline certification for IAT II (e.g., GSEC, Security+, SCNP, or SSCP).
- 8-10 years of Cyber Security experience.
- Familiarity with the DoD STIG process.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with ACAS, eMASS, and XACTA.
- Active TS/SCI clearance (SCI eligible).
- DoD 8140 Level II certification (Security+ CE).
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Desired Skills
- Nessus experience.
- System Admin experience.
- Experience with CCRI scoring.
- Security Control Knowledge and Self-Assessment Experience.
- Experience receiving an ATO for a system and working it through the entire RMF process.
Schedule
Full-time, core hours are 0600 - 1800.
