About the role

Achievers Early College Prep Charter School (AECP) seeks a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as a Teacher. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching STEM subjects and a strong commitment to supporting students in achieving their academic and personal goals.

Responsibilities

• Teach high school level STEM courses, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, physics, and computer science.
• Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that align with state standards and incorporate real-world applications.
• Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to help students improve their understanding and performance.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan interdisciplinary units and projects that enhance student learning and engagement.
• Mentor and support students in developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in education and STEM instruction.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field or equivalent experience.
• At least three years of teaching experience at the high school level.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment.
• Passion for working with underserved students and helping them achieve their educational and career goals.

Qualifications

• Experience with project-based learning and hands-on activities.
• Knowledge of current educational technology and its integration into classroom instruction.
• Ability to manage a classroom of up to 30 students.
• Passion for STEM education and a commitment to equity and access.

Skills
