NIL Marketing Intern - Fall 2026

Support the planning, coordination, and execution of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) partnerships and marketing initiatives. Assist with content development, campaign execution, athlete engagement, and project coordination to deliver partnership objectives, maintain brand standards, and support awareness of MSUFCU's NIL program. Gain hands-on experience in marketing strategy, partnership marketing, and content creation within a collaborative business environment.

The MSUFCU internship program is designed to support interns in developing career readiness competencies as defined by NACE, including career and self-development, communication, critical thinking, equity and inclusion, leadership, professionalism, teamwork, and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities that support NIL partnerships, including project timelines, deliverables, and communications.
  • Assist with planning and executing marketing campaigns that feature student-athletes and NIL initiatives.
  • Develop and organize content for digital, social media, and promotional channels in alignment with campaign objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support integrated marketing and communication efforts.
  • Monitor project progress and update stakeholders on campaign milestones and deliverables.
  • Research marketing trends, audience engagement practices, and collegiate athletics developments to inform campaign recommendations.
  • Review marketing materials to support brand consistency, accuracy, and quality standards.
  • Support athlete activations, community events, and promotional activities related to NIL partnerships.
  • Maintain records, assets, and project documentation associated with NIL initiatives.
  • Complete additional projects and assignments that support departmental objectives.
  • Understand and adhere to the Credit Union's policies and procedures to ensure compliance and manage operational risks.
  • Follow established internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and maintain operational integrity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Actively pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Sports Management, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing concepts.
  • Familiarity with content creation or design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Availability to attend occasional evening or weekend events.
  • Thorough understanding of current marketing methodology and practices.

Pay

$16.00/hour

Schedule

  • Part-time: 15-25 hours/week.
  • Hours scheduled based on student's school schedule and business hours (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday).
  • Hybrid work arrangement: combination of remote work and onsite at MSUFCU Headquarters in East Lansing, MI.
  • Duration: Fall semester with potential to continue into future semesters.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • May require remaining in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate standard office technology, equipment, and tools, including extensive computer and phone usage.
  • Occasional movement within office areas; frequent movement inside or outside office areas.
  • Exposure to potentially hazardous conditions (e.g., robbery); receives detailed safety instructions.
  • Frequent movement of equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Onsite presence required at assigned location for all scheduled shifts.
