Night Warehouse Trainer
Position Summary
The Night Warehouse Trainer is responsible for training, coaching, and developing night-shift warehouse associates to ensure safe, accurate, and productive warehouse operations. This role focuses on order selection, loading procedures, material handling equipment operation, food safety compliance, and operational best practices. The Trainer works closely with warehouse leadership to improve productivity, reduce mispicks and shorts, and maintain a culture of safety and accountability. Additionally, the Night Warehouse Trainer serves as a backup to the Night Warehouse Supervisor(s) by overseeing shift operations during vacations, absences, or other staffing gaps.
Key Responsibilities
Train new and existing warehouse associates on standard operating procedures and company policies
Provide hands-on instruction in order selection, product handling, loading, and warehouse processes
Ensure associates are properly trained and certified on warehouse equipment, including electric pallet jacks and forklifts, as applicable
Conduct follow-up coaching sessions to reinforce training and improve performance
Assist in onboarding and evaluating new warehouse employees
Productivity & Performance
Monitor employee performance against established productivity standards, including cases-per-hour goals
Coach associates to improve efficiency while maintaining quality and safety standards
Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing mispicks, shorts, damages, and loading errors
Serve as a backup to the Night Warehouse Supervisor(s)
Safety & Compliance
Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
Conduct safety observations and provide corrective coaching when needed
Assist with accident prevention initiatives and safety training programs
Operational Support
Work alongside associates to reinforce best practices and operational expectations
Assist with workflow coordination to maximize productivity and efficiency
Communicate operational issues and training opportunities to warehouse leadership
Support inventory accuracy and proper product handling procedures
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience required
Prior training, coaching, or leadership experience preferred
Experience operating warehouse material handling equipment preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees
Working knowledge of warehouse productivity metrics and food safety standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing operational needs
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull products in accordance with company standards
Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, and warehouse environments as required
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical labor throughout the shift
Schedule
Sunday through Thursday, 5:00 PM until completion of shift. Hours may vary based on operational needs, volume, and staffing requirements.
