About the role
As Manager, Warehouse you will cultivate a culture centered on people, safety, service, and cost. You will engage with warehouse associates, deliver best-in-class customer service, and drive safe, profitable operations. Your experience will guide personnel management and efficient warehouse workflows, ensuring accurate and timely receiving, storage, selection, and loading of products.
Responsibilities
- Lead with a safety-first mindset to ensure all associates remain injury-free; champion safety procedures, processes, and training.
- Oversee and develop warehouse associates through coaching, training, and performance discussions; collaborate with senior managers to address performance gaps.
- Foster open communication and direct workforce to maintain efficient workflow and a cohesive, values-driven culture.
- Supervise and drive the productivity of warehouse associates; participate in hiring, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure accurate order staging and loading; prepare the warehouse for shipping or receiving between shifts.
- Monitor operational metrics (e.g., mis-picks, productivity reports) and take corrective action through coaching.
- Designate dock locations for inbound carriers; ensure proper stocking, food safety, and FIFO compliance.
- Oversee replenishment and will-call operations to minimize shortages and maintain stock availability.
- Maintain warehouse and equipment condition; prepare work orders for repairs and requisitions for new equipment.
- Collaborate with operations management to identify and address inventory shrink sources.
- Analyze operations to recommend cost-control and expense improvements.
- Inspect facilities for safety hazards and resolve or report them as needed.
- Ensure compliance with Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and FSQA requirements.
- Schedule shifts using planning tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Supervision
Directly supervises union and/or non-union warehouse associates (e.g., loaders, selectors, receivers, forklift drivers).
Work Environment
Work occurs in warehouse environments, including cooler and freezer areas where temperatures may reach -5 degrees Fahrenheit.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse distribution.
- Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
- Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
- Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.
- Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
- 10% travel required, typically for mandatory meetings and/or training.

- HACCP certification.
- PCQI certification.

Pay
Expected base rate for this role is between $60,000 - $95,000, depending on relevant experience, education, skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.
