About the role
The Night Shipper operates electric forklifts and pallet jacks in a safe manner, using order sheets to accurately select cases of product and build pallets according to company standards. They load trailers safely and organize them, perform cleaning and general housekeeping tasks, and perform letdowns accurately and in a timely manner. Night Shippers are responsible for filling out all paperwork accurately and completely, adhering to GMP standards, OSHA safety regulations, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate electric forklifts and pallet jacks in a safe manner
- Use order sheets to accurately select cases of product
- Build pallets of product according to company standards
- Load trailers in a safe and organized manner
- Perform cleaning and general housekeeping tasks each night
- Perform letdowns accurately in a timely manner
- Fill out all paperwork accurately and completely
- Adhere to all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations
- Communicate inaccuracies with Leads and Supervisors
- Follow all Empire Packing/Denver Processing policies and procedures
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work 40+ hour work weeks
- Ability to work in 32⁰ and below environment
- Ability to make quick and decisive decisions: good judgment and common sense required
- Attention to detail
- Good math skills
- Ability to follow directions
- Display strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Ability to obtain a forklift and pallet jack license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift and kneel repeatedly for long periods of time
