Responsibilities
- Interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic drawings.
- Maintain a clean and safe maintenance work area.
- Troubleshoot equipment (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical).
- Assist in capital projects including construction, fabrication, and installation of equipment.
- Operate heavy equipment.
- Maintain loaders, industrial fork trucks, company fleet vehicles, and other equipment.
- Manage parts inventory for equipment.
- Collaborate with vendors on equipment issues and parts.
- Complete preventative maintenance and assigned work orders.
- Notify team leads if standard work procedures cannot be followed.
- Wear required PPE: safety glasses, ear plugs, and job-appropriate gloves.
- Participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks, including mandatory overtime as required.
- Lift a minimum of 50 lbs; occasionally exert up to 100 lbs of force.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment by identifying, eliminating, or controlling safety hazards.
- Complete LOTO and other plant-specific safety trainings.
- Ensure all work complies with the latest workplace safety regulations and laws.
- Verify and recheck work to ensure all parts meet quality standards and function correctly.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; Associate Degree in a mechanical field is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and diesel engines.
- Knowledge of electrical operations of heavy equipment.
- Entry-level computer experience (e.g., ERP systems).
- Loader license or certification, and/or fork truck license or training.
- Completion of all in-house training.
- Proficiency in using power and hand tools, welding, and plumbing/pipefitting.
- Experience maintaining gear boxes, chains, sprockets, bearings, shafts, motors, valves, and field devices (e.g., photo eyes, limit switches).
- Ability to troubleshoot using a multimeter.
- Constant attention to job activities, surroundings, and safety of others.
- Ability to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.
