Night Shift Injection Molding Production Supervisor
Position Summary
The Night Shift Production Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing and optimizing production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety within our manufacturing plant. This role requires a unique and strong leadership skill set, a deep understanding of production operations, and the ability to lead and collaborate cross-functionally as the only salaried employee on this shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor production processes to ensure they are running smoothly, efficiently, and in accordance with established quality standards and production schedules.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity.
- Collaborate with the engineering and operations teams to develop and implement process enhancements.
- Maintain a keen eye for quality control, ensuring that products meet or exceed quality standards at all stages of production. Implement and enforce quality assurance protocols to minimize defects and deviations.
- Effectively allocate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to achieve production targets. Coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure timely availability of necessary inputs.
- Uphold a strong commitment to workplace safety. Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular safety inspections, and promote a safety-conscious culture among the production team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records, including production output, downtime, maintenance logs, and any incidents. Generate relevant reports for management review.
- Identify training needs within the production team and facilitate training programs to enhance skills and knowledge. Mentor and develop team members to promote career growth.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies. Contribute ideas and lead implementation efforts to streamline processes and reduce waste.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years' experience as a Production Supervisor or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Injection Molding experience.
